Residents and business owners in both Myrtle Beach and North Myrtle Beach are upset with Mayor Rhodes and the Myrtle Beach city council over their efforts to curb the Myrtle Beach Spring Rally and Atlantic Beach Bikefest.

A new group HELP - Help Eliminate Lousy Politicians for Myrtle Beach - has been formed to vote the politicians out of office.   The Mayor and three other council members are up for election this year.

While rally attendance in North Myrtle Beach was good, many bikers did not choose to stay there, so hotel business was way down, although not nearly as much as in the city of Myrtle Beach.

Meanwhile, more checkpoints are planned in the city of Myrtle Beach for this week, angering and inconveniencing residents, visitors and bikers alike as well as attendees to Freestyle Music Park.
