Collins, who owns the Lighthouse Motel on Second Avenue North, had the same sentiment, but he expressed it in softer terms.

Collins said the 12 rooms in his motel, which normally rent for $135 a night, are traditionally booked solid through the spring bike rally. This year he's dropped his rate to just $40 a night, and he's only half full, despite having had a good spring season so far.
